I found several reports of it being hummingbird pollinated on Goggle Scholar. Other species in the genus are apparently bat- and moth-pollinated. I imagine the carpenter bees visit as well, especially in gardens where they are easily observed. I don't know South Africa ecosystems first hand, and did not quickly come up with anything on Google Scholar other than "insect pollinated."
