I was suddenly a bit insecure about the capitalisation of trees and plants since I and am currently translating a book on Gauguin who was very adamant about botany. So this has been very clarifying. You mention i.e. the Terminalia catappa that Gauguin painted in his oil painting Te raaù rahi (The Big Tree), 1891: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Paul_Gauguin_-_Te_raau_rahi_(The_Big_Tree)_-_1949.513_-_Art_Institute_of_Chicago.jpg
Franceshttps://franceslivings.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7577407817580433311.post-21722614643035146292021-11-22T11:06:11.576-08:002021-11-22T11:06:11.576-08:00Thank you so much for your clear explanation and f...Thank you so much for your clear explanation and for Lovely photos Thanks for posting I'm available here For planting guides feel free to ask me plants related questionsBalluhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02949684895590186086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7577407817580433311.post-38912039408801957262020-10-26T11:52:00.716-07:002020-10-26T11:52:00.716-07:00Species are grouped into genera. I can call the Rosaceae the rose family, the plum family, the apricot family or the strawberry family. The idea is chose a plant the people you are speaking/writing to know, so they get a mental image of a plant in that family.
